Elevations & Section Drawings
Elevations and Section drawings can be provided independently or as part of a complete Measured Building Survey.

Mlp offer a full Architectural Drawing Service, and provide services for architects, developers, planning submission and applications, space planning, interior design, building contractors, solicitors, design companies, feasability studies and private individuals.

Our drawings provide an accurate and highly detailed representation of an existing building, and these drawings can also form part of a planning submission application.

We often work for architects and developers who sub-out the existing survey stage of a project, saving them time and money and allowing them to concentrate on the more complex and time consuming design stage of a project.
A typical Elevation Survey will include the following details:

  • Outline of building and roof
  • Rainwater pipes and gutters
  • Ground levels and steps
  • Doors, windows & other openings
  • Ventilation grilles, roof lights
  • Door frames, paneling and glazing where applicable
  • Chimney stacks, finials, mullions, cills and copings
  • Signage, roof tiles, brickwork
  • External staircases, gates & fencing where applicable

Section Drawings
A 'cross section' or simply a 'section drawing' shows a view of a building as though it has been sliced in half. Sections are used to describe the relationship between different levels of a building.

These drawings will show as much structural detail as possible without any intrusive investigation. We can also provide sectional-elevation drawings which show the internal elevation detail.
